Nokia Confirms Launch of Android Device end of the 2016

According to Android Authority, Mike Wang, Nokia Executive has confirmed that the firm plans to launch three or four novel Nokia Android devices.  The upcoming devices will be collection of both tablets and smartphones.

The firm will announce its devices probably at the end of the year; therefore the smartphone will be unveiled in 2017. The Actual release date of the upcoming Nokia smartphones will depend on company’s testing and development.


The upcoming smartphones will be designed by HMD, the Finnish company affiliated to Nokia that will craft smartphones under Nokia brand. The smartphones will be manufactured by Taiwanese company Foxconn that develop devices like BlackBerry, iPhone, Xbox One, iPhone, and Wii U. The company hasn’t revealed any information about its upcoming devices. Although, previous renders suggest that Nokia will introduce two premium smartphones, both will run Android 7.0 Nougat.


One smartphone is expected to feature a 5.2 inch screen, and the other one will own a 5.5 inch display. Both devices will pack QHD OLED displays and will run Snapdragon 820 processors. There will be a 22MP rear camera on both smartphones and both phones are expected to wrap in metallic bodies that will be dust and water resistant.


Previously this week, HMD declared that it sourced Pekka Rantala as its new chief marketing officer. He is known for an old employee of Nokia. His JD includes promotion of upcoming Android powered devices and revitalizes the Nokia brand.


In conversation with CNET, Rantala said that, ““I love Nokia, I love what it stands for, and I’d love to see it rise again. “Nokia is a globally recognized brand, and we have a chance to rejuvenate it like never before”.
