Huawei Honor 6S Spotted Online Expected to Hit the Market in Early 2017

Last month, Huawei launched a new smartphone in its Honor sub-brand in the shape of the Honor 6X. Now it seems that the Chinese OEM is looking to broaden its lineup with a more affordable variant of the device. The device is named as Honor 6S and it will cost $120 or $130.


Rest information regarding the Honor 6S is still vague, but according to rumors, it appears that the device will not possess a dual camera setup. Rumors also mention that the device will share some specifications with Honor 6X such as, a hybrid SIM slot, a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and 4G and VoLTE support.


The Honor 6S will be powered by Snapdragon 435 SoC chipset, the chip is made on a 28nm process but not on 14nm process. The device will be available for purchase in 2017.


To recall, the Honor 6X (2016) features a 5.5 inch resolution with IPS LCD with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The device is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 655, clocked at Octa-core (4x2.1 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53), and coupled with Mali-T830MP2. The dual-SIM device comes in two variants 32 GB native storage with 3GB RAM, and the second variant has 64GB internal storage with 4 GB of RAM. In terms of camera optics, the device packs a dual 12 MP + 2 MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, and LED flash.


The smartphone offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, and Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, EDR, LE connectivity options. The Honor 6X supports fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, and compass sensor. It has a 3340 mAh battery with fast battery charging.
