LG V20 is a powerful value for money smartphone that boosts solid hardware specifications and elegant design. LG has been successful in creating an aesthetic feel to V20, ditching a robust look of previous V10.
The phone with its nearly perfect audio streaming and recording features – that sometimes are as good as any professional audio devices makes it a heaven for all audiophiles out there.
LG has been innovating around the smartphone for quite a while now. The Korean based tech company previously launched world’s first modular phone in shape of G5. Though the phone didn’t really make any serious impact among global users, still at least the company tried to bring us something truly innovative. The company didn’t stop there; in fact they launched yet another world’s first stainless steel smartphone V10. The smartphone again was not really appreciated among the users but it managed to receive critics acclamation as the world’s most underrated smartphone.
The great news! LG still isn’t holding back their guns from innovation. V20 is the latest sensation from Korean tech giant that surely seems to steer its way among global smartphone users as well as critics. Though most would have thought V20 to continue modular theme of V10, however, V20 has undergone some serious changes.
Here’re some changes that make V20 a true sensation for all audiophiles in particular and smartphone users in general.
LG has done it again! The company has somehow managed to scrape entire V10 looks that were designated as Rugged by most users and come up with a solid yet aesthetic design – totally ditching design of its predecessor. In fact, a look and V20 and you won’t be able to guess if it really is the successor of all stainless steel V10.
V20 follows more of G5 theme when it comes to design – will its aircraft-grade Aluminum and polycarbonate body. The company claims better protection against drops and scuffs with its aircraft-grade aluminum body. The design is quiet exquisite on the flip side - while it really isn’t modular anymore as in case of G5. A small button at bottom right side indicates that you can remove the cover to access the battery.
V20 retains more of its features from its predecessor V10 – especially when talking about specifications. V20 boosts a 5.7-inch (Quad HD) IPS-LCD screen with protection of Gorilla Glass 4. Though there are smartphones in market using Gorilla Glass 5, still the company claims that they have refined the Gorilla Glass 4 to a level that almost reaches the strength and integrity of Gorilla Glass 5. To sum up, LG V20 retains a pleasant but not mind-blowing display.
V20 retains an Always-On secondary screen that’s kind-of becomes a landmark for LG V series. The secondary screen enables quick access to certain functions, without having to turn on the main display. However, V20’s secondary screen boosts a better contrast and improved visibility as compared to V10’s.
LG V20 is powered by exclusive Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (Quad-core) processor. This get coupled with fast 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, making it a top performance smartphone in market. V20 certainly lived up to its expectations for high-performance gaming experience, given its powerful hardware specifications.
Currently on 64Gb internal memory version is available in market. However, this may be more than sufficient for most users – given that you can always add-on storage with Micro-SD card slot.
Talking about battery, the most heard complaints about V10 was its quick draining battery. This time the company seems to tweak just a little with 3200mAh battery (as compared to 3000mAh for V10). We aren’t in a position to test the durability and resilience of battery in real-life test and are waiting in line to know. No wireless charging options available with V20’s arsenals
Audio recording is undoubtedly the reckoning feature for LG V20. The smartphone is a heaven for audiophiles with its almost perfect audio recording features. The phone is all set to bring the crispiest and clearest audio – mainly because of its four DACs. Moreover, V20 boosts noise reduction, lossless music format support, refined 75 stage volume and left / right balance control.
