527 Galaxy Note 7 Consumers want to File Lawsuit against Samsung

There is news that Galaxy Note 7 customers have decided to file a court case against Samsung in South Korea. Well the news isn’t surprise because we have already heard about the similar news in the United States.

Thought, it is not like some lawsuits in the US that hunt for millions in punitive harms, Galaxy Note 7 owners in South Korea a have softer attitude towards the Samsung. The Korean Media reports that about 527 plaintiffs have decided to file a lawsuit against the manufacturer to compensate users for the costs to reach to the Samsung’s stores and exchange their smartphones, but also they had to wait while transferring the data from the Galaxy Note 7 to new smartphone.


The head of the law firm, Attorney Peter Young-Yeel Ko, representing the plaintiffs,  states that the lawsuit also seeks compensation from Samsung for the psychological harm from using a dangerous product like Galaxy Note 7 phablet. “We are filing a lawsuit not to ask for hundreds of millions of won in punitive damages like in the United States. We are demanding fair compensation for the simple damage that consumers have suffered.”


Each applicant wants to get $440 compensation per person, but it’s only initial quantity, this the total might increase later. Recently, Samsung announced an upgrade program in South Korea, as per the plan consumers who choose to opt for the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge now, will receive a 50% discount on the upcoming Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8.
