Sasmung Foldable Samrtphone Design Revealed in Patents

It looks like Samsung will launch two models of Galaxy S8; we wonder what will happen to the Project Valley foldable model with flexible display, which was rumored to be unveiled at MWC in 2017.

Despite of the Galaxy Note 7 failure Samsung is working on next flagship Galaxy S8 and next phablet Galaxy Note 8. Samsung Note 7 customers will forget and forgive the company if Samsung launches a flawless and improved phablet.

If foldable device will hit the market in the first quarter of 2017 then we suppose Samsung has started manufacturing of the smartphone. However, the curved display device isn’t a new concept because LG has already launched LG G Flex with curved display.

Amusingly, the analyst states that Samsung will be able to produce up to 10 million 7 inch flexible OLED displays in one month by the end of the 2017. Samsung will not manufacturer OLED panels only for itself, Apple is also rumored to use OLED displays in its iPhone 8 Plus.

We speculate that how the foldable device will look like. A fresh patent of the device is also leaked which hints design of the phone. It has a pivot in the middle that resembles what Microsoft’s Surface Book already has.

The device can fold, bend and occupy small area and it is easy to carry the smartphone in purses. You can flip, open and use the full screen. The patent also lists the hinge mechanism in great detail, and portrays design and a push button meant to mechanically open out the phone, now as rumored.
