The handset measures 139.8 x 67.4 x 5.1 mm by dimensions and carries 97 grams of weight which is not feel too much heavy while holding the handset in hand. The handset front and back panels are covered with Gorilla Glass 3. The BLU placed control buttons on the side and the camera sensors are placed on the back side of the handset. There is no doubt that the handset is beautifully made, slim in dimension and carries light weight.

Display

The BLU Vivo Air gives the compact look because of its thin bezels and slim body. The handset has 4.8 inches Super AMOLED display screen having 720x 1280 pixels resolution which provides 720ppi. There is no doubt that the display of the handset works efficiently and gives good result to the users because the handset screen is bright and has the well-balanced contrast. Users get the same sharp and vivid display in the bright light as well in dim light.

Operating system and users interface

BLU Vivo Air is the Android based handset and runs KitKat version operating system which gives the full customize experience to  the users but it is expected that the handset will get Lollipop update soon in near future maybe somewhere in June. BLU is not trying to complicate the things and would not over stuff the interface and users will have the simplest interface. When users swipe the screen to the left they get the widget which offers the quick snapping, audio recording option, turned on the LED flashlights and even make fake phone calls.

The other smart gestures are also available in the interface of BLU Vivo Air to help and accommodate the users. Double tapping display gesture is similar to the LG G3. The other smart gesture allows the phone to automatically answer the call when the phone is near to the user’s ear.

Processor and Memory

However, the BLU Vivo Air is the major handset but the handset is not been able to perform heavy task. The BLU Vivo Air is equipped with Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A7 processor paired with Mediatek MT6592 and Mali-450 GPU. This is not the superfine combination but seems well balanced and able to perform basic tasks. This hardware combination is run the device in smooth manner. BLU Vivo Air is packed with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB onboard memory. Users are stuck here because there is no card slot and they have to compromise with 16 GB onboard memory. The onboard memory is sufficient to download and run the applications is an appropriate manner without generating the hanging issue.

Camera

The image result of BLU Vivo Air is good, but the same result would not come while users trying to record the video. The interface of thecamera is good and running the simple mood with some additional snap capturing options. Beside the rear camera, the handset has 5 megapixel front facing camera which gives the users best selfies and satisfy them during video calling with the good results.

Battery

BLU Vivo Air has many good features in it, but the main drawback in found inside the handset is its non-removable battery. The handset is energized with Non-removable Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery which gives Up to 750 h (2G) / Up to 675 h (3G) standby time to the handset and Up to 24 h (2G) / Up to 12 h (3G). The users are stuck here and unable to change the mobile battery if anything goes wrong with the power source.

Bottom Line

It is quite difficult the guess the price of BLU Vivo Air while holding the handset is the hand first time. There is no doubt that BLU Vivo Air is available in very attractive price and users are quite satisfied with the performance of the handset. However there are two major drawbacks found inside the handset, one is the handset has no external memory option and the 2nd is the handset battery is non-removable but users will have a great and thinnest handset on their hand against the price of $199.
