Huawei Mate 9 with Kirin 960, Dual Leica Camera, and 4,000 mAh Battery launched

Finally the much awaited device Huawei Mate 9 launched with Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design and Huawei Fit at an event in Munich, Germany. The smartphone has subject of rumors from a long time ago, so we know almost everything about the Mate 9. However, there are still many features that Huawei managed to keep secret from the render world.

The Huawei Mate 9 packs a 5.9 inch IPS display with 1080 resolution. It is crafted with metal which looks premium and decent. If we compare the phablet with its size, it’s light weight as compared to other phablets in the market. It weights just 169g and measures 7.5mm so you can easily hold and use the Mate 9.

As rumored before, the Huawei Mate 9 is powered by new Kirin 960 chipset which has a prevailing octa-core processor with a quartet of the new Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and another four Cortex-A53 cores ticking at 1.8GHz. On the board, there is a 4GB of RAM which runs device smoothly.

The fingerprint scanner with gesture support is mounted on the backside of the smartphone which comes with always-on variety. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with EMUI 5.0 on the top.

The main highlight and selling point of the Huawei Mate 9 is its second generation Leica camera. It houses dual-camera setup one lens is 20MP f/2.2 monochrome and the second one is 12MP f/2.2 color sensors. Both optics include OIS, autofocus, phase detection, laser, and contrast detection feature. You will also find a dual tone LED flash in rectangular shape on the backside of the device.

The company claims that the Mate 9 camera has a Hybrid Zoom feature, which allows users to zoom without compromising on quality. But, we have to wait till we experience the feature in real life. It’s the first Huawei flagship which is capable of recording 4K videos.

The 8MP front facing camera with with f/1.9 aperture and autofocus  is fairly a delicacy for selfie lovers. The Dual SIM device has 64GB of expandable memory, 4,000 mAh battery, and LTE connectivity. The Mate 9 supports a Super Charge with a 5A charger thus you can charge the device in less time.

The gorgeous smartphone will be available in Moonlight Silver, Space Gray, Mocha Brown, Champagne Gold, Ceramic White, and Black. Firstly, the device will be available in China, including Italy, Japan, Germany, Kuwait, Thailand, Malaysia, Poland, and United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. Unfortunately, Huawei didn’t speak about the worldwide availability of the device, but we expect the Mate 9 will be officially available in different countries. It will be available for €699/ USD 773.
