Vivo Launches Vivo X9, X9 Plus, and XPlay 6 in China

Chinese mobile maker Vivo launched three new Android devices on Wednesday, the Vivo X9, Vivio X9 Plus, and XPlay 6 in China. Two of the three devices resemble to Apple’s current flagship iPhone 7.


The main feature of the Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus devices that they come with a dual front facing camera. Both devices have a 20MP selfie camera with Sony IMX376 sensor and f/2.0 aperture, and 8MP front facing camera too. Both smartphones has a 16MP main camera with phase detection autofocus.


As for specifications, the Vivio X9 packs a 5.5 inch Full-HD Super AMOLED screen with 1080x1920 pixels resolution.  It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (MSM8953) clocked at 2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM. The Dual SIM Vivo X9 will be available in 64GB and 128 storage models. It run FuntouchOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and supports a fingerprint sensor. The connectivity options contain 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. It measures 152.6x74x6.9mm, weighs 154 grams, and has 3050mAh battery which comes with a fast charging support.


The Vivo X9 Plus comes with a bigger display as compared to Vivo X9 and XPlay 6.  It packs a 5.88-inch full-HD IPS display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution.  It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 (MSM8976 Pro) CPU clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with 6GB of RAM. The Vivo X9 Plus will come in just 128GB storage model.


The device runs FuntouchOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and features fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button. It houses a large 4000mAh battery with fast charging support. It measures weighs 199 grams and 162x79x7.4mm. The Vivo Xplay 6 supports a 5.46 inch Quad HD dual curved display with 1440x2560 pixels resolution. In terms of design, the device resembles to Galaxy S6 Edge from the front side and it looks like iPhone 7 from tha backside. It has 6GB RAM and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The dual SIM phone runs FuntouchOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and has 128GB storage.


The main selling point of the Vivo XPlay 6 is its dual rear 12MP camera with Sony IMX362 sensor, PDAF, f/1.7 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. A 5MP rear camera is also found on the backside of the device. The smartphone also sports a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. It supports fingerprint scanner and a 4080 mAh battery.


The Vivo X9 64GB model is priced for CNY 2,798/USD 407.24 and the 128GB variant is priced at CNY 2,998/USD 436.35. The Vivo S6 Play comes with CNY 4,498/US $654.66 price tag and whilst pricing information of the Vivo X9 Plus is not revealed yet. The smartphones are up for pre-orders in China.
