Samsung Allegedly to Acquire Smartphone Batteries from LG Chem Ltd

According to Chosun Ilbo newspaper, Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is in talks with LG Chem Ltd for smartphone batteries. After failure of Galaxy Note 7, choosing LG Chem as supplier would diversify its supplier’s base.

Samsung is world’s largest mobile maker, produce quality smartphone and compete its rivals with unique features. The company was acquiring Note 7 batteries from Samsung SDI and China's Amperex Technology.

An industry official said there was more than a 90 percent chance of a contract being beat and said that Samsung Electronics would probably start acquiring LG Chem batteries from the second half of next year.  An LG Chem spokesman refused to comment, as Samsung Electronics spokeswoman did not comment immediately on the report.  An analyst mentioned, LG Chem at present produces smartphone batteries for its associate LG Electronics and US Company Apple Inc.

Moreover, Samsung is working on its upcoming flagship Galaxy S8; we expect that the smartphone will come with so many admirable features and improved specifications. According to rumors, the device will get rid of physical home button; the home button will be embedded underneath the display.

The camera pixels and quality will also be improved; the Galaxy S8 will be waterproof. It will have 6GB RAM, 256GB internal storage and support wireless charging. So for charging the smartphone you don’t have to plug in charger. The S8 is expected to unveil in February or March 2017.
