Asus Launches ZenFone Max 2016 with Snapdragon 616 SoC and 5000 mAh Battery

Today Asus India launched a novel variant of the ZenFone Max handset in India. All ZenFone Max (2016) variants come in two memory options, an octa-core processor, and enhanced native storage.

The Asus ZenFone Max (2016) will be offered in 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM variants. The new variants are powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 clocked at 1.5GHz with 32GB of internal storage. One evident upgrade is OS; the smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box while its predecessor runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. The major attribute of the device is its 5000 mAh non-removable battery, the company claims that the battery can give up to 38 hours of talk time and it can facilitate to other devices as a power bank. The ZenFone Max (2016) will come in two colors such as Orange and Blue.

 

Remaining of the specifications of the ZenFone Max are same as the original model. The Dual SIM smartphone owns a 5.5-inch HD IPS TFT display with 720x1280 pixels resolution. The device features a 13MP rear camera with a Laser Auto-Focus feature and dual LED flash. There is a 5MP selfie snapper as well with various features. The connectivity options are 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Indian LTE bands.

 

The 2GB RAM variant is priced at INR 9,999 (approximately USD $148), whilst the 2nd model carries INR 12,999 (about USD $192) price tag. If you are looking to buy the smartphone, Flipart is offering 2GB variant, whereas the 3GB variant is listed as coming soon. The base model ZenFone Max comes with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC and has 16GB of storage. It was launched in January and it is available for purchase at INR 8,999 (roughly USD $133).
