Huawei Confirms Mate 9 Smartphone Launch Date

As we reported earlier, Huawei Mate 9 and its top model Mate 9 Pro smartphones are set to launch at an event in November. Today the manufacturer released its first teaser of the upcoming Mate 9 device ahead of its November 3 launch.

Gratitude to @EvenBlass for posting images of the Huawei Mate 9 and pricing information. According to rumors the device will be priced high as compared to its predecessor because it comes with a Leica 4x camera setup. Though, specifications of the smartphone are rumored based.


The Pro model is rumored to come with 5.9 inches curved QHD display while the standard model will come with flat screen. Both smartphones will be powered by Kirin 960 chipset, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, plus 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage.


The main feature of the Pro model is its main dual camera with 4x optical zoom. It supports Type-C USB port on the bottom for fast charging. Some rumors hinted that Huawei will remove 3.5mm headphone jack, but according to new news the 3.5mm jack will be on the phablet's top. The device will support the Google VR feature so users can experience virtual reality.


Moreover, Meizu Pro 6s was rumored to launch on October 3 but a new report confirms November 3 launch. The company has started sending out invites for its upcoming launch event. Both Chinese companies will launch their handsets on the same day so customers can choose a smartphone, which suits best according to their need.
