According to reports, Google plans to re-introduce it as a smartphone company with two new Android devices on October 4. The smartphones named Pixel and Pixel XL are made in collaboration with HTC.
The Pixel and Pixel XL are supposed to compete Apple and Samsung so the company filled both devices with high-end specifications. Let’s briefly describe hardware and the design of the device. The Pixel smartphone is expected to feature a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution. While, the Pixel XL device will come with 5.5-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Both devices will compete with Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. It isn’t confirmed yet that both devices will come with LCD or OLED technology.
Both smartphones are anticipated to power by Qualcomm's latest chipset Snapdragon 821; it will have a 4GB of RAM and at least 32GB of storage. As per reports, the Pixel and Pixel XL will pack a 12MP Sony IMX378 rear cameras and 8MP Sony IMX179 front cameras. The camera is expected to come with improved cameras as compare to previous devices.
The Pixel and Pixel XL will run latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The company will launch a Pixel Launcher in the smartphone as well.Both smartphone will be IP53-certified for being splash-proof, you can’t use your device while swimming or shower but it will resist against rain. Both devices will be made with metal, right now there is no information regarding price of the devices.
