Google Pixel Smartphone Secured 10 Percent Market Share In October In India

Google launched its first self-branded Google Pixel and Google Pixel smartphones globally. The exclusive factor about these two smartphones is that they are premium and come with admirable specifications. Google is in direct competition with Apple and indirectly competing Samsung.

According to the latest report by Counterpoint Research, google’s Pixel device have already secured 10% share of the Premium smartphone segment back in October in India, in the same month the device was launched. Moreover, the report claims that Apple still leading in this segment, with around 66 percent of the overall market share, trail by Samsung with around 23 percent share.

Counterpoint Research said in an emailed statement,"Google is forcefully trying to take advantage of the lack of competition in this segment and does not want to miss-out on the opportunities. The company is leaving no stones unturned with heavy spend on marketing; there are exchange and cashback offers also available for the new entrant. A refreshing and feature packed Pixel is making for a good proposition against the incumbents Apple's new iPhone and Samsung's [Galaxy] S7 smartphones."

If we consider the advertisement done by the company for its devices, Google Pixel will be able to maintain its market share next year. The Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL both are premium devices and are expected to boost profits.
