LG Offers Full Refund to Nexus 5X Users Experiencing Boot Look Problem

LG USA is allegedly offering a full refund to users practicing boot loops on their Nexus 5X smartphones. Whilst, usually the procedure would repair, replace, or issue a refurbished device. According to this offer, the company will fully refund money on the device as it doesn’t have repaired parts, or new units of the device.

After the launch of the Google Pixel smartphone, Google has halted sales of the Nexus 5x. The refund policy reports are coming from Reddit users, and are seen on the dedicated Nexus 5X subreddit. Consumers that have returned their Nexus 5X to LG for repair are now getting an email that informs them a part required to fix the problem is not longer available. The company also asked to precede a sale receipt so that it can conclude the exact amount that needs to be reimbursed.

The email body contains content, “We're sorry to hear that you've experienced a problem with your LGH790 and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to provide a warranty repair. We have received your device at our repair facility, but currently a part to complete the repair is out of stock and is no longer available.

To rectify this issue, we would like to offer you a refund for the full amount of your device. That amount will be determined by your sales receipt. Your refund can take approximately 4 weeks to receive due to the holiday."

The boost loop issue in Nexus 5x was first time seen in September when Nougat 7.0 updates were rolled out to the device. Google said that at that time very few people were affected with the issue and users should contact to their supplier for repair or warranty options.
