Samsung ultimately confirms there will be a Galaxy Note 8

Last week we came to know that Samsung might be planning to incentivize the devotion of its Galaxy Note 7 customers in South Korea. The company plans to treat Note 7 customers with discounts on the upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.

At that time, we had no idea how the scheme will function and how Samsung will accommodate to its customers. Now the company announced a new handset upgrade program for Note 7 customers in South Korea. According to reports, the interesting plans Note 7 upgrade plan can excite Samsung fans.

Those who have purchased the Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea and replaced their handset with Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge will be given a chance to upgrade to the 2017 flagship Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy Note 8 next year. However, the upgrade offer will not be offered for free so the customers will have to pay for the half of the price of the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge (depending on which phone they've returned their Note 7 for) to be eligible for the upgrading.

Moreover, the upgrade will be presented through an inexpensive variant of Samsung's Galaxy Upgrade Program. Interestingly, Samsung hasn’t confirmed Note 8 information directly. There were rumors that the company might kill off its Galaxy Note 7 series when Samsung recalled the Note 7 for the second time. But the upgrade report hints that it was nothing but gossip.

Meanwhile, it is mysterious if the company plans to expand the accessibility of the upgrade scheme to any other countries adjacent to its home market.
