Apple iPhone 8 may not Feature OLED Display

As expected, Apple’s next flagship iPhone 8 will be revealed in 2017, the smartphone will come with surprising features and specifications. As per rumors, the iPhone 8 will feature an OLED display which consumes low power.

Now it seems that Apple has to struggle hard if it wants to introduce an upcoming flagship with OLED displays. According to a Bloomberg report, Canon Tokki Corp is the only company which produces OLED displays is booked up for next two years.


The report claims that, CEO says “We are doing all we can to boost production and create that wait shorter”. The production machines cost about £70 million each. Previously, American mobile maker Apple tried to release sapphire glass displays for the iPhone but the vendor didn’t meet standards and went bankrupt. The latest Apple watch model also features an OLED display.


Some renders hint that Apple will launch one special version of its next flagship with OLED display while standard model could feature the same display as its predecessor. Many other Japanese companies also aim to start OLED display production in 2018. Therefore, we can expect an iPhone with curved display. Other rumors suggest that iPhone 8 will feature a 3D camera which will permit users to capture quality pictures with new features.
