Gionee Launched M6 and M6 Plus with Larger Batteries and Strong Security

Gionee launched M6 and M6 Plus smartphone in Beijing at an event on Tuesday. Both devices feature built-in data encryption chip that guarantees extra security of consumer content and communication. The data encryption is an exclusive feature of these smartphones, it protects users from malware, and IM communication content from being decrypted easily.

The Gionee M6 packs 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1920x1080 pixels resolution, powered by 64-bit 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor. The device has 4GB RAM and runs Android Marshmallow-based Amigo 3.5 OS out of the box. It comes in 64GB and 128GB storage options which can be expand up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

The Gionee M6 has 13MP rear sensor with LED flash and PDAF, there is an 8MP front shooter as well. Another significant feature of the smartphone is its 5000 mAh battery which keeps the device on. It supports fast charging, which charges devices in only two hours. It supports fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, USB OTG, WLAN, GPRS/EDGE, and Wi-Fi etc.

The Gionee M6 Plus is a Pro variant of the base model with few similarities and differences; it equips a 6-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1920x1080 pixels resolution. Another difference is a 16MP primary camera with dual LED Flash, and the front camera is 8MP. The third major difference is Gionee M6 Plus’s huge battery, a 6,020 mAh battery lights up the device. The rest specifications are same in both devices.

 

The Gionee M6 will be available for purchase from August 6, whilst the Gionee M6 Plus will be available from August 13 in the Chinese market. When it comes to the price, the standard model Gionee M6 64GB is available for CNY 2,699 and the Gionee M6 Plus 64GB variant is priced for CNY 2,999. Both devices will be available in Champagne Gold and Mocha Gold colors.
