HP Rendered to Release a New Windows Smartphone in 2017

In February, HP launched Windows 10 powered Elite X3 at MWC. The device also supported Windows 10’s variety feature and was launched for enterprise customers. Despite the kind reaction to the Elite X3, it appears that HP is planning to launch another Windows smartphone in 2017.


The company is rumored to collaborate with Microsoft for the release of a more customer focused Windows Phone that is likely to release in February 2017. The report claims that HP will craft and sell the smartphone whereas Microsoft will help with the finance.  


The company will allegedly provide the technology that it has used with its Lumia device to let HP convey features like ClearBlack Display, Glance, Double Tap to Wake, and advanced camera functionality to its forthcoming Windows 10 smartphone.


Just to review, the Elite X3 features a 5.96-inch QHD AMOLED display with 1440x2560 with Gorilla Glass 4 on top. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.15GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB inbuilt storage.


Camera for the Elite X3 contains a 15MP main camera, and an 8MP selfie shooter.The smartphone was targeted to a business, that’s why it comes with a lot of safety features as well as HP Workspace. In addition, the report states that Microsoft has already launched a new Windows 10 smartphone internally in Redmond, and is expected to be formally announced in February 2017.
