Meizu launched Meizu M5, it has a bigger screen and a fast fingerprint scanner. The screen is now 5.2” big and covered with 2.5D beveled glass. The fingerprint scanner is also optimized which responds in 0.2 seconds.
As for detailed specifications, the Meizu M5 features a 5.2 inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. One disappointing thing is the device still runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Flyme 5.5 on top, while many smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow or Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
It is powered by Mediatek MT6750 chipset and comes in two versions 2GB RAM with 16GB storage or 3GB RAM with 32GB. In addition, you can expand the mobile’s memory via MicroSD card. A 13MP rear camera with LED is found on the back side of the device which is as fast as a fingerprint sensor mounted on the home button. There is a 5MP selfie camera build up on the front top of the Meizu M5.
The smartphone will be available in Mint Green, Blue, Matte Black, Champagne Gold and White colors. The Matte Black device is designed to be fingerprint and scratch resistant. The Mint Green variant has a special UV varnish to keep the color from fading due to sun lightens.
A 3,070mAh battery keeps the device up for long hours. The Meizu M5 is available for purchase in China and the standard variant will cost you CNY 700 ($105/€95), while the second variant is available for USD $132. It’s not confirmed yet either Meizu M5 will be available in international markets or not.
