Oppo R9s and R9s Plus with 6GB RAM Launched

Finally Oppo launched Oppo R9s and R9s Plus smartphone at an event in China. Descendants to the Oppo R9 and the R9 Plus, both were released in March this year. The new smartphone comes with the improved selfie camera. The device comes with its Oppo R9s Plus variant; the standard model will go on sale from October 28 at 3,499 Yuan, while the Oppo R9s Plus will start selling from December.

Both Oppo R9s and Oppo R9s Plus feature a fingerprint sensor, fast charging batteries, and improved cameras. As for specifications, the Oppo R9s features a 5.5 inch screen with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 and 1080p resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone has 4GB of RAM with 256GB native storage with MicroSD card. The Oppo R9s runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with OPPO’s own Color OS 3.0 on top.


The Oppo R9s Plus sports a 6-inch 1080p display and it is the first device to be powered by Snapdragon 653 chipset. The chip is said to come with a faster LTE modem which offers up to 5x better upload and download speed. The chipset features ClearSight technology for built-in support for dual camera. The Plus model is 4G LTE compatible and it doesn’t pack dual camera system. It has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD. A 4000 mAh battery provides power to the Plus model.

Both smartphones feature 16-megaixel rear and front cameras. The Oppo R9s Plus rear optic comes with f/1.7 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS).
