Xiaomi is preparing its Mi5 with finger print scanner and has filed patent registration with State Intellectual Property Office in China. The new thing in this device is integration of fingerprint scanning into the touch buttons on a handset. The fingerprint scanner mostly attached with the home button and Xiaomi might follow the same pattern in their Xiaomi Mi5.
According to the patent application the Xiaomi used additional glass layer on top of the home button which is added to protect the tiny components placed inside the fingerprint scanner. Apple followed the same and used sapphire glass to protect their Touch ID attached with the home button.
Previously we heard that the Xiaomi will unveil the Xiaomi Mi5 in September. The Xiaomi Mi5 is the first model of the company will come with fingerprint scanner and with this patent Xiaomi will be free to produce this component indigenously and will no more be dependant upon third party.

It is speculated that Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with a 5.2-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 (QHD) resolution. It has the power of quad-core 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor paired with Adreno 420 GPU handling graphics. The Xiaomi Mi5 has 3GB of RAM and 16GB/64GB of internal memory and has 16MP rear and 8MP front facing camera and energized by 3600mAh battery. There is no information available about the price of the smartphone and for knowing that we need to wait until Xiaomi confirm the things officially.
