HTC revealed HTC Desire 820 handset in previous month. After the successful debut of the handset we heard that the company was busy to make the mini version of the same handset with less advance features. However till that time company does not confirmed the existence of the mini version of the handset, but now the mini version of HTC Desire 820 is confirmed. The mini HTC Desire 820 is now available in China with the name of HTC Desire 820 Mini.
The name of the handset clears the doubts. This is the mini version or the original handset which was equipped with 5.5 inches large display. The mini version of the handset has 5 inches regular display according to the trend. The design of the handset is same like the original one and the trendy front speaker is also placed in front of the handset. The handset sold through Tmall. Tmall is one of the largest Chinese online retailers and the handset carries $228 price tag which is $100 less in price from the elder brother.
The Desire 820 mini is not equipped with 64 bit Snapdragon 615 processor. The handset supports regular version of chip set like Snapdragon 400 chipset. The new handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The handset supports LTE connectivity and Dual SIM. Besides these features the handset has 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard memory which can be extendable externally via microSD card. It has 8 mega pixel rear and 5 mega pixel front facing camera.
The handset only available in China now and it is still unclear that the company has a plan to release the handset is other regions but it is expected that the handset might be available in other regions as well.
