Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with the metal body

According to reports out of the Taiwanese supply chain, Samsung has employed the services of Catcher to source and produce metal bodies for the Samsung Galaxy S4 replacement. Given the ongoing success of the Galaxy S brand, it is believed that the Korean manufacturer has requested between 10 million and 30 million metal Samsung Galaxy S5 bodies be produced.

The latest round of Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours have once again pointed to the upcoming flagship phone playing host to an all new metal bodied design. With Samsung widely expected to ditch its longstanding love affair with plastic, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has long been rumoured to adopt a new, premium metal construction to rival the likes of the iPhone 5S and HTC One. Although Samsung has to date remained true to its desire to produce plastic clad handsets, the Samsung Galaxy S4 came under criticism for its less than premium design.

This was further compounded by the introduction of a range of more high-end handsets over the past 12 months. Further Galaxy S5 leaks have seen the next-gen smartphone tipped to sport everything from a 5.2-inch 2K display to a 16-megapixel rear-mounted camera and Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS. One of many Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours to be doing the rounds, it was recently suggested that a Samsung Galaxy S5 release date will be held in March, with the flagship handset set to make a post-MWC 2014 appearance.
