Huawei will send Software and Security Updates for its Smartphones for 2 Years

Chinese leading company Huawei has announced that it will send security software updates to all Huawei smartphones for 24 months. The security updates will roll out its Honor brand devices too. The roll out will be made for strengthening the customer service.

Taylor Wimberly, Huawei Device USA's e-commerce customer acquisition states that, after the smartphone acquisition, the updates would roll out often for the first year, at least once every three months. Then updates will come after gaps after that the company will discontinue supporting the device. Moreover, he added that security bug fixes will be sent according to decided gap because the company doesn’t want to compromise on security.

Wimberly enlightened that, "From this year we are making a pledge to offer customers with access to new features (at least once every three months during the first 12 months) for up to 24 months following each product launch. We will keep providing access to security and software updates to fix bugs and enhance user experience in a timely manner. Beyond this period we will continue to provide updates in response to any threats to user safety and security. Our goal is to ensure customers have the best and safest possible experience on their Honor device.

After 2 years, the company won’t offer those smartphones access to any kind of updates added to the Emotion UI, but will carry on to send 'updates in reaction to any intimidation to consumer protection and security'.

Recently, Huawei announced Honor G9 Plus in USA and the device is up for pre-orders and it is available for purchase in China.
