Korean Mobile maker Samsung is already performing well in the camera diversion which can be seen by in latest flagship Galaxy S7/ Galaxy S7 Edge and last year models Galaxy S6 and Note 5, all of these devices give admirable performance.

Almost all mobile makers are trying to achieve highest level of perfection by improving quality of their smartphone. It seems that Samsung is also trying to improve camera of its flagship, as per a new rumor the Korean Giant is trying to develop a CMOS camera sensor with a lens which will be 1/1.7" large and f/1.4 wide. It is a noticeable increase because Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge come with 1/2.5" sensor size.

Whereas megapixel concern is the company’s new sensor could be capable to capture pictures in between 18MP to 24MP. In case if you don’t remember Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge comes with 12MP camera. Therefore, you might be wondering about the benefits of a big camera, basically a large sensor would be able to capture sharper, detailed and less noisy image as compare to current small sensor. The larger sensor will deliver better performance in low-light as well.

Moreover, there are some gadgets in the market which come with larger sensors for instance Nokia Lumia 1020 has 1/1.5" sensor size, Nokia Pureview 808 comes with 1/1.2" sensor size, and Panasonic Lumix CM1 has 1" sensor size. The rumor also tells that Samsung is working on another 1/2.3" camera sensor as well but it is quite uninteresting.

It is not known yet either Samsung will use larger camera sensor in upcoming Note 6 or it will be used in Galaxy S8. Only time will reveal the truth so we have to wait till facts come out.
