Samsung Plans to vend Refurbished Devices by 2017

The Korean Giant Samsung is planning to vend refurbished devices of its premium lineup by next year. The company is finding ways to maintain earning impulsion after reviving its mobile profits by reorganization its product listings.

According to a report, the firm wants to keep its operating margins above 10 percent so it is looking to revitalize its earning methods similar to Apple. Thus the company will make refurbished smartphones available for customers as soon as next year.


An individual with straight information on the matter told Reuters, the Korean Giant will revamp its high-end devices returned to the firm by users who signed up for one year upgrade program in the United States, and South Korea markets. Then the company will sell returned devices at low prices.


The knowledge person didn’t give any information about how much discount the company will offer, how much devices Samsung will sell, and in which markets the devices will be available. According to BNP Paribas, Samsung's flagship Galaxy series has a resale value of 51% of the genuine price in the US market. While, Apple flagship iPhone  sells for about 69% of its original value about one year of the launch.


Refurbished devices could help companies to boost profit and increase presence in rising markets such as India, where high-end devices come with USD 800 to USD 1000 price tag. The Apple devices are available in different markets such as the United States and the company is trying to sell the device in India market as well.


Some customers who want to buy quality high-end smartphone but they can’t afford so they may prefer to buy refurbished devices because they could easily afford them.
