The world's first transparent tablet, the Android powered Grippity, is a project seeking funding on Kickstarter, The man behind the slate is Jacob Eichbaum from Tel Aviv, and he is looking to raise $199,000 by January 24th. With 29 days to go, the tablet is about $182,000 short of the goal. A pledge of $159 or more will get you one of the tablets with an expected shipping date of October 24th.
A microSD slot is on board if you need more storage. And while Android 4.2.2 is expected to be pre-installed on the Grippity out of the box, if the specs allow it, Android 4.4 could be on the slab when it launches. The slate has a two-sided transparent 7 inch LCD touchscreen, with resolution of 480 x 800. Under the hood is a Cortex A8 ARM based processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of native storage.
By using the rear touch panel, you can press on pixels without blocking your view of the screen. You can also use your fingers to type on the back of the screen while reclining in your easy chair. The device is ergonomic and can also be used as an remote for your television and DVD player.
