The handset is one of the most awaited handsets of the year. The handset has a lot of charm in it. It has a 6 inches large display and comes with full metal body. Huawei tries to give the best to the users and placed a faster processor inside the handset and secured the handset with the best fingerprint scanner. Company embedded sufficient capacity camera and powerful battery in the handset and all these equipments placed inside the slim body only measure 7.9mm thin body.

Design and Display
The handset has a well balanced body which makes the smartphone perfect. The handset covers all the premium aspects in a very prefect manner. If we see the handset carefully, we know the handset has round corners, although the rounded corners in the handset is nothing new but the metal back cover is attractive and gives the stylish look to the handset.
This handset is not a small device, it has a large 6 inch display which means the handset is also large in size, but that does not mean that the handset has a thick bezel, in fact the smartphone has a slim body. Company claims this is one of the compact handset with the large display in the market till yet. The handset measures 6.18 x 3.19 x 0.31 inches (157 x 81 x 7.9 mm) dimensions which are the almost similar to the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note and iphone 6 plus. The large display does not make any trouble while operating the phablet with one hand.
Looking at the back side of the handset users will find the fingerprint sensor. The sensor has a box shaped large rim. The sensor is placed near to the camera and LED flash. On the right side of the handset users find the volume control buttons. The buttons are also made up with the metal and give the beautiful and premium stylish look to the handset.
As we already know this is the trend of the touch screen. So Huawei also selects large touch screen display for their giant. The phablet has 6 inches IPS LCD display with 1080x 1920 pixels resolution. However this is not the record breaking pixels resolution, but still the image and the display quality are fine and superb. The contrast level of the phablet is well balanced and the screen gives the perfect bright results to the users under all light conditions.
Software and User Interface
Huawei has recently updated their 3.0 Android 4.4.2 KitKat based EMUI. The first notable thing has been that company already added the navigation button with the new Android L theme. The button sequences are triangle for going back and a circle is specifically used for setting menu and the box shaped is used for performing multitasking.
Company highlighted the theme manager with lots of built-in themes with a power saving tool that would save the extra power consumed by the hardware or software. The handset also offers the ultra power saving mode. This mode turns the phablet into the black and white user interface while users use the phablet for making the calls or sending the text.
Huawei has also added one new feature in the phablet interface; the feature is known as one- hand mode. Users can easily reach this option from the notification bar, but the user interface size cannot be changed. It is expected that the users are completely comfortable while using the phablet with this enriched interface.
Processor and Memory
Huawei gives boost to their handset with their own designed HiSilicon Kirin 925 system on chip. Company placed the Octa core processor inside the phablet. The processor is built in two pairs, of course each pair has 4 cores. The phablet comes with two processors option. One based on 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores and the other one has 1.8GHz Cortex-A15 cores. The chipset works with ARM technology. The phablet works consecutively and takes care with a power efficient cluster of Cortex-A7 cores without shutting the phablet. If users need more backup all 8 cores will be on at the same time. Huawei placed a quad-core Mali-T628 GPU, with the speed of 600MHz.
On account of memory, the phablet comes with two options; one has 16 GB on board memory along with 2 GB of RAM and the other with 32 GB memory comes with 3GB of RAM. Both memory options support external memory card for increasing the on board memory. It is expected that the new system on chip beats the Snapdragon chipset because the handset chipset is working fairly well.
Huawei selected the perfect camera for their Ascend Mate 7. The handset has 13 mega pixel rear camera with 1/3.06' Sony IMX214 sensor, with f/2.0, 28mm wide-angle lens and 5 mega pixel front facing camera with selfie feature. The camera has Best Photo option which gives the number of images in the quickest time. There is also an extra feature found in the camera known as”Ultra Snapshot” feature. Ascend Mate 7 is not the first handset appearing with this feature. This feature allows the user to take the image even the handset is locked. Users just need to press the down volume key twice and the handset goes to the snap taking mode. Huawei claims that the handset is able to capture the images in just 1.2 seconds
Huawei placed the powerful battery inside the Ascend Mate 7. The battery is 4100mAh. The battery gives sufficient time to the phablet to keep it on and gives two day’s backup time to the phablet even the users’ use the phablet continuously. The battery timings are well enough. The handset gives 9 hours 3 minutes talk time backup to the phablet and these are the most desirable backup times.
But the drawback with the battery is it is non removable. If any miss handling happens to the battery users need to change the complete phablet instead of a battery. Maybe this factor affects the popularity of the handset because many users avoid using the non removable battery handsets.
Finger print scanner
One of the most discussed points of Ascend Mate is the fingerprint scanner placed on the backside of the phablet. There is no second opinion; this is one of the most secure features present in the market yet. The same feature is found in the Apple’s products, but the Mate 7 fingerprint sensor works in low time with perfect accuracy. Another exciting feature of the scanner is, it works even the handset is locked and users don’t need to wake the phablet on.
Huawei Mate 7 touch sensor takes the fingerprint impression even the finger is wet, but too much wetness will cause it to cease working.
Price and Availability
It is expected that the handset will be available in €499; this is the price of 2GB RAM and 16 GB on board memory version, the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB on board memory version is available in €599. It is expected that the handset will be available in many European and Asian markets and the price might be different according to the specifications and regions.
Huawei Ascend Mate 7 has a 6 inches large display and many users avoid using the big display handsets. Because of its big screen the handset stands in phablet line. On the other hand the Mate 7 has a compact device. The phablet has well built metal body which gives the premium look to the handset and has the well balanced configuration of hardware and software.
With this configuration the handset will be popular among the users and will take the good share for the company across the world. Hopefully the users will appreciate this product of Huawei.
