LG G3 VS LG G2, CHANGES MADE IN THE NEW MODEL
For quite some time, the smart phone market was owned by Apple, Samsung and Nokia and then we saw some of the best smart phone models from LG. LG is a huge worldwide well-known brand in electronics especially in home appliances and then this company made its debt in smart phone manufacturing.
In the beginning, there weren’t any models from the manufacturer that could make any difference in the market with other brands but last year with the release of G2, LG introduced something quite interesting and unique. LG G2 was and still the best smart phone in the cell phone market and even if it’s been a year that this model was released, people still like and prefer this mobile over other high class smart phones i.e. Samsung and Nokia.
It was quite nice to see something quite astonishing from LG but that’s not it. Although LG made its point clear that it can also make good smart phones but it was time to introduce something new in the market to compete with Samsung Galaxy S5, iPhone 5 and Google Nexus 5. Thus we were introduced with LG G3, a new model with some of the same features as its previous one.
Here we are going to compare these two models by LG and we will see what changed have made in G3.
This model was released in the market in September 2013 and from that time, it has been one of the best smart phones in the market and even if it’s a year, people still like this model very much. We know that G2 has acquired a really good and top position in the market even if there are dozens of other smart phones are available in the market. LG G2 is a bigger device as compared to most of the other devices in the market but it still has the appealing looks and sleek exterior that it doesn’t feel bigger while keeping in hands. This mobile has 5.2 inches of screen but even if it is bigger than most of the models from Nokia and Apple, it weighs only 143 grams. The screen is a very bright and crystal clear with resolution of 1080 X 1920 P and it has HD plus IPS LCD technology. It has 424ppi density which makes it better than Nokia Lumia smart phones. Additionally, the screen is protected with gorilla glass 3 which makes it tougher and resistive against scratches and potential damages.
While talking about the hardware of the LG G2, it includes a Qualcomm snapdragon 800 chipset with Quad-Core processor rating 2.26GHz and Adreno 300 as GPU. As this phone has a separate processor for graphics and UI, it makes the picture quality brighter and deep in details. G2 also has 2GB of Ram which makes it one of the fastest smart phones in the market. As you know that LG devices runs with android operating system and thus G2 also has 4.4.2 Jellybean version of android which can be upgraded to 4.4.3 KitKat. The phone is available in two different internal memory options with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage memory and the feature to increase the memory with external SD cards up to 64GB. The phone runs on 3000mAh battery which was quite bigger as compared to most of the smart phones back then and even it’s been a year, it still have bigger battery than most of the latest models.
LG G2 has 13 megapixel of camera with lens resolution of 4260 X 3120. There are many features added to this camera included OIS, face and smile detection, autofocus and LED flash that makes it possible to take high quality pictures in dark. You can also capture video with the primary camera with 1080P@60fps and that makes it one of the best and true HD camcorder smart phones of 2013. G2 also comes with a secondary front facing camera with 2.1 megapixels and this phone has the feature to capture videos and pictures simultaneously.
Without any doubt, LG G3 is the most rumored and with highest expectations smart phone of 2014 and since the date it was announced to be released in the market, we have heard hundreds of rumors and leaks about this phone and now that it is finally here, we can easily compare it with its predecessor. There is a reason that this next flagship smart phone by LG is also called Phablet and it’s because of the size of this smart phone and the screen on it. LG G3 is equipped with 5.5 inch gigantic screen with Full HD features and a better quality in the results and graphics. Although this phone is bigger than the previous model but it doesn’t weighs that much as compared to G2 and its only 149 grams even with bigger screen and battery.
The screen on G3 includes the resolution of 2560 X 1440 and 534ppi ratio which makes it one of the brightest and clearest LCD displays in the market. This LCD allows the users to watch HD movies on the mobile screen and as the screen is 5.5 inch in size, it doesn’t feel like a mobile but more like a tablet with little smaller display. And even if this mobile is much bigger in size, you don’t feel that while keeping it in your hands. The display of G3 is equipped with corning gorilla glass 3 which is like the toughest screen in the world and best resistive to the scratches.
While talking about the hardware and software of this smart phone, LG G3 is equipped with Qualcomm snapdragon 801 chipset, Quad-Core processor with rating 2.5GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. The GPU configuration is higher than the previous model so this phone handles the graphics in a better way. There are two different versions of G3; one with 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of Ram and the other with 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of Ram. You can also increase the storage memory with external SD cards and G3 supports up to 128GB of external memory. It runs on android 4.4.3 KitKat versions but as soon the next update is available by android, users can upgrade it to android 4.4.4 or L version.
G3 has the primary rear facing camera of 13 megapixels with resolution of 4260 X 3120 which is the same as the previous model but there are some major changes made to this camera and its picture quality. It is equipped with LED flash, simultaneous picture and video shot, face detection and autofocus. Camera is also very good in video capturing and you can use it as a HD camera if you want. Camcorder in LG G3 can capture video of 1080P@60fps with HDR and surround sound. G3 is also equipped with secondary front facing camera with 2.1 megapixels and it’s good enough for video calling, Skype chatting, basic pictures and video capturing at 720P@30fps.
