Huawei Nova 6, Nova 6 5G and Nova 6 SE detail and differences

The Chinese tech giant Huawei has launched the new nova 6 lineup with punch-hole display designs. The Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G unveiled as high-end devices while the Nova 6 SE announced as a mid-range Smartphone. The standard version Nova 6 is identical to the 5G variant, but it skips the 5G network and has a slightly small battery. On the other hand, the Nova 6 SE has a quad-camera setup, and it offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB ROM. Both Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G have Black, Blue, Red, and Provence color options while the Nova 6 SE is available in Black, Pink, and Green colors.

Huawei Nova 6, 6 5G and 6 SE design

Both the Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G have the same design and cameras, but both also have slight differences. In terms of dimension, the Nova 6 measures 162.6 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm (6.40 x 2.98 x 0.34 in) and its weight is 197 grams while the Nova 6 5G measures 162.7 x 75.8 x 9 mm (6.41 x 2.98 x 0.35 in) and its weight is 212 grams (heavier than Nova 6). On the other hand, the mid-range Nova 6 SE has 159.2 x 76.3 x 8.7 mm dimensions with 183 grams weight. The Huawei has built Nova 6, and 6 5G versions with Aluminum frame body, and both have vertically shaped triple camera setup while the Nova 6 SE has a square-shaped quad camera setup. Both flagship Smartphones have dual selfie cameras (oval-punch hole) while the third sibling offers a single sensor (punch-hole). Moreover, these devices offer a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric options.

Nova 6, Nova 6 5G and Nova 6 SE specs and features

Nova 6 and its 5G variant feature 6.57 inches FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an oval punch-hole for selfie camera in the top left corner. The oval punch holes of both devices offer 32MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. While the standard version Nova 6 SE has a 16MP sensor on the front panel for selfie experience. Both the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G run Android 10 OS as well as Nova 6 SE also runs Android 10. For photography lovers, the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G offer triple camera setup, which includes 40MP primary sensor, 8MP telephoto camera and 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Both can record 4K videos at 30/60fps and slow-motion videos at 960fps. Under the hood, the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G have powered by Kirin 900 Chipset constructed on a 7nm Octa-core processor (2x2.86 GHz Cortex-A76 & 2x2.09 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4x1.86 GHz Cortex-A55), and both offer Mali-G76 MP16 GPU.

On the other hand, Nova 6 SE has a square-shaped quad rear camera setup, which includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 2MP modules (depth and macro) for photography experience. It can also record 4K videos at 30fps and slow-motion videos at 960fps as well. This device powered by Kirin 810 Chipset and offers Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. In terms of battery capacities and fast charging options, these trio devices offer up to 40W for rapid charging. The Nova 6 5G and Nova 6 SE have the same 4,200 mAh battery capacities while the Nova 6 has packed a slightly smaller 4,100 mAh battery.

Price and availability

The pre-orders of trio mobile phones have been started, while the official sales are scheduled to begin on December 12. The Nova 6 5G has a $540 price for the base model – 8GB of RAM and 128GB ROM, while the 8GB/256GB version will cost a $600 price tag. The Huawei Nova 6 SE will go for sale at a $315 price tag.
