In an official Weibo post, Redmi GM Lu Weibing revealed that the Redmi K40 series (which will be launched in February) will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Chipset. The smartphone will also include a 4,000mAh battery and a premium flat display. The post also states that the Redmi K40 will go on sale at a starting price of CNY2,999 ($463).

While the post doesn’t reveal any additional details, we expect that Redmi will offer a good mix of flagship and mid-range features on the Redmi K40 series. Some Redmi K40 live images surfaced online last month, revealing a device with a center-aligned hole-punch display instead of a pop-up selfie camera mechanism and a rectangular rear camera module that houses a large main camera sensor and three smaller cameras.
