Tim Cook: US Tariffs on China help Samsung over Apple

As we know about current trade-war disputes between two world’s superpower countries, America and China. In this trade-war US, official apply huge tariffs on China, which did not only impact Chinese imports but also slows down a number of US-based telecoms’ business.

Recently, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook made talks with President Trump. Cook warned US tariffs on Chinese goods help Samsung over Apple.

Samsung is already the no.1 most selling mobile brand across the world, while the second-place seized by Apple, and the third by Huawei in the same order. But Trump’s act of applying more tariffs on China-made hard to breathe for Apple and Huawei for the competition, while South Korean-based Samsung is not facing those same tariffs, and hence the fact created an easy-to-survive friendly environment for the Galaxy products.

On that matter, Trump said on Sunday “Cook made a good case that tariffs could hurt Apple, given that Samsung's products would not be subject to those same tariffs. Tariffs on an additional $300 billion worth of Chinese goods, including consumer electronics, are scheduled to go into effect in two stages on September 1 and December 15.”

"I thought he made a very compelling argument, so I'm thinking about it," Trump added.

Remember, Apple iPhones and iMac laptops won’t suffer more tariffs, whereas AirPods, Apple Watch, and HomePod assembled by Chinese labor will keep on increasing US tariffs on China in the future.
