Unfortunately, both phones haven’t supported the 5G network.

Design difference and body material

OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro have an obvious difference in design; 7T arrives with dewdrop notch on the front and circular shape camera setup on the rear shell, while 7T Pro has the vertical rear camera setup and pop-up front camera technology. The buttons placement is nice, as well; both devices have power keys and silent keys on the right side while volume rockers on the left side. OnePlus 7T and 7T pro have SIMs tray on the left side of the bottom. The company makes 7T with a flat display AMOLED display while 7T Pro has a bezel-less (minor curved) AMOLED screen without the notch. The 7T and 7T pro built with aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protects front and rear panels. In terms of dimension, the OnePlus 7T measures 160.9 x 74.4 x 8.1 mm and its weight is 190 grams, on the other hand, the 7T Pro measures 162.6 x 75.9 x 8.8 mm and weighs is 206 grams (16g heavier than 7T’s 190g). There is no more space for fingerprint sensors on the rear shells, which meant both phones have under-screen fingerprint readers as well.

The best update on both phones is the 90Hz display; therefore OnePlus calls it ‘Fluid AMOLED Display”. The OnePlus 7T features a 6.55 inches Fluid AMOLED display that can support FHD+ resolution with 1080 x 24000 pixels at 402 PPI density. On the other hand, the 7T pro flaunts a 6.67 inches Fluid AMOLED display and supports a higher QHD+ resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels with 516 PPI density. The 7T’s display has a massive brighter panel with the above-mentioned pixels, it has a worthy maximum 743 nits brightness and we can down the brightness of this device up to 2.2 nits. The maximum brightness of OnePlus 7T pro is 1,000 nits and we can also down brightness up to 2.2 nits. When we activate Dark mode in both phones, then brightness automatically further goes downgrade up to 0.4 nits. In terms of color accuracy, we measured an average DeltaE of 2.1 and a maximum deviation of 3.9 against sRGB, and both phones also offer DCI-P3 and wide-gamut mode.

Batteries

In terms of battery capacities, both devices have an obvious difference; the OnePlus 7T has a 3800 mAh battery (built by Li-Po) capacity while OnePlus 7T Pro has 4085 mAh (built by Li-Po) massive battery capacity. Both phones support up to 30W for rapid charging through Wrap 30T charger. More importantly, OnePlus claims, the 7T Pro provides 23 percent faster charging with the same Wrap 30T charger. In terms of batteries timing; the OnePlus 7T has a 93h endurance rating at 90Hz refresh rate while OnePlus 7T Pro has a 95h endurance rating at 90Hz refresh rate. Compare battery capacities, we easily understand, OnePlus 7T Pro provides a long time using phone experience.

Software

A special thing! OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro runs Android 10 OS, OnePlus customized Android 10 with Oxygen 10.0 layer for both phones, and it has incredible features and smooth performance. We experienced slightly difference by using Android 10; meanwhile, the Stock gallery app and OnePlus’ Zen Mode has been updated with new features. Furthermore, with Android 10 changed gestures make more easy to use these devices. In Huawei and Xiaomi we use the same behavior “Swipe up from the bottom to go home”, but OnePlus changes this thing and we also get Privacy and location settings. You can adjust Accents color, Icon shapes, universal themes, ambient display and more in its Oxygen OS.

Both phones have two security options; face unlocks and fingerprint sensors, and we also select animation effects in fingerprint reader term as well.

In the “Shelf’ feature we can activate parking feature and we can mark where we parked and both phones have the Digital Wellbeing feature, so we can check device usage. The Phones arrive with Zen Mode; in this mode, we can’t send messages, open apps, or change settings, etc, in terms of your decided time i.e. 20 to 60 minutes.

OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro rear camera setups

The OnePlus 7T has a round-shape triple camera setup on the back panel for photography. In triple camera setup, the phone has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary shooter with f/1.8 aperture and 0.8µm pixels, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 and 117-degree field of view. OnePlus 7T arrives with a new 12-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.2 (bigger than OP 7’s 8-megapixel) aperture and 2x optical zoom. On the other hand, OnePlus 7T Pro also features the same main sensor of 48MP Sony IMX586 with f/1.6 aperture and 0.8µm pixels. Apart from the main sensor, the 7T Pro has obvious differences in the telephoto sensor and ultra-wide sensor. The telephoto camera of this phone has an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture (smaller than 7T’s 12MP), but it has 3x optical zoom.

The 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture is a 13mm wider while 7T’s 16MP is 17mm wider. Additionally, the ultra-wide sensors of these devices also act as a macro lens and we can shots objects from 8cm up to as close as 2.5cm. Both phones offer portrait mode, and you take portrait photos with either 1x or 2x zoom.  We can record slow-motion videos at 960fps and 4k videos at 30fps. In daylight and nightscape experience, images from the main cameras of 48MP are excellent results and have good color reproduction at capturing all the dynamic range in the image.

Selfie cameras

The OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro both have 16-megapixels sensors with f/2.0 aperture and 25mm wider, but 7T Pro has Pop-camera technology. By using the front camera we can capture decent shots with HDR features and we also record videos up to 1080p. Unfortunately, the front cameras of both Smartphones can’t record 4K videos. The color accuracy is well at different Dynamic ranges and the skin tones look accurate. Overall, selfie experience is pretty good with OnePlus 7T (water-drop design) and OnePlus 7T Pro (Pop-up design).
