Xiaomi Redmi 2 Phablet review more than Price

Introduction

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is the successor of Redmi Note which was revealed by the Chinese manufacturers last year. The new version of the phablet give the place to the company in t he line of 64 Bit processing unit. However the Redmi Note 2 is the mid range device but still the device run latest operating system and provides the modest LTE connectivity in a very effective price.

Design and build

In the account of design the new version of the note is much similar with Redmi Note1 but still there is a minute difference present in the shape and the design of the phablet. The new Redmi Note 2 is less in weight and the corners of the device get reduce and give the compact look to the device. The handset is made up with the high quality plastic which increase the elegant look of  the smartphone. The same red backlight found in the device which is the special mark of Redmi line handsets. Using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 gives the pleasant experience and users did not feel too much burden on their hand while holding Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.

Display

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is featured with 4.7 inches HD IPS display which provides 312ppi. These display specs are same with previously launched Redmi Note the screen of Redmi Note 2 is protected with Gorilla Glass Type 2 which keeps the handset away from cracks and scratches. When we see the display closely we found the accuracy of RGB colors. The handset display gives the sharp and bright display and has the good contrast colors. The display is lack from the Glove mode and users are unable to use the handset while wearing gloves in the hand. The proximity sensor of the handset is not working if cover from anything and users are unable to unlock t he handset screen.

Software and User Interface

Redmi Note was released last month and runs KitKat version of operating system instead of new Android 5.0 Lollipop. There is no doubt that KitKat is light in weight and consumes less battery power for running smoothly. Xiaomi provides their own designed MIUI user interface. This interface allow the users to customize the interface completely even the interface is capable to replace everything complete even all Google services. Xiaomi gives the simplest interface to the users which increase the pleasure of using Redmi Note 2.

Processor and Memory

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is come with two types of RAM and onboard memory option but both runs the same processor, chipset and GPU. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is embedded with Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor paired with Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 system on chip and Adreno 306 GPU. The Snapdragon 410 is the economical system on chip which supports the 64 bit processors and has the faster speed of working. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is available in 1 and 2 GB RAM options. The 1 GB RAM version has 8 GB on board memory and the 2 GB RAM version is paired with 16 GB built-in memory but both are extended up to 32 GB via microSD card externally. Well users don’t need to think over to store and run the large files, games, storing music and save their data because they don’t ever face the limited memory option.  

Camera

There is no doubt that Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is featured with well balanced pair of camera. The phablet has 8 megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, 1.4 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection and HDR. These features allow the users to capture good images and give them a fine quality of photos. The front facing camera is bit low and the device only has 2 megapixel front-facing camera which is not so bad not very impressive for taking the good selfies and for video calling.

Battery

For running the phablet in logical manner Xiaomi placed 2200mAh battery inside the Redmi Note 2 which is 10% more powerful than the predecessor which gives the sufficient backup to the handset and keep the users busy with their note. Beside this powerful battery the handset has the special charging feature which is known as rapid charging. This charging option is possible only with the specially designed quick charger. The charger charge 30% battery in 30 minutes. Users can enjoy the handset to their maximum extent.

Price and Availability

 Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 2 last month and the handset available since the same month. This is the dual sim device and supports Micro-SIM, dual stand-by. The handset is available in five bright colors Black, White, Yellow, Pink and Green and the price of the phablet is unbelievable. The handset carries $140 price tag.
