HMD announced Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 5.3, Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 5310

The brand best known for the most durable phones ever to grace us with their presence, Nokia, has unveiled a new lineup of smartphones. Like most other companies with MWC plans, HMD had to take its announcement online, and, doing so, announced three smartphones and a feature phone today. HMD Global today announced three Nokia smartphones - Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 5.3, Nokia 1.3, and a feature phone Nokia 5310.

Nokia 8.3 5G

Nokia 8.3 is the first company’s 5G smartphone with support all 5G TDD and FDD sub6 frequencies (n78, n40, n41/38, n7, n1, n2, n3, n66, n9, n5, n28, and n71). The phone is built around a 6.81” Puredisplay of FullHD+ resolution. It’s an HDR panel with Adaptive display support that adjusts contrast depending on how much light is around you. On the front panel, it has a 24MP sensor for selfie experience. There is a 64MP ZEISS quad-camera setup on the back panel for photography experience. Running on the Snapdragon 765G platform, the Nokia 8.3 5G comes in 6GB and 8GB of RAM, and 64GB and 128GB of storage options, respectively. It runs stock Android 10 and is part of the Android One program, so you’re guaranteed two years of upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. The phone has a 4,500mAh battery that can be charged at up to 18W speeds. The Nokia 8.3 5G will be available in a single Polar night color option inspired by the northern lights this summer.

Nokia 5.3

Nokia 5.3 comes with a 6.55-inch HD+ display with a notch home to the 8MP selfie shooter. The quad-camera setup has a main 13MP f/1.8, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle (118°), a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth unit. Under the hood, the Nokia 5.3 is powered by Snapdragon 665 Chipset. The base variant comes with a 3GB RAM + 64GB internal storage configuration. There’s also a 4GB RAM + 64GB option. It will be available in charcoal, gold, and cyan colors. The battery capacity for the 5.3 is 4,000mAh. According to the company, it should be available in late April 2020.

Nokia 1.3

The Nokia 1.3 has affordability at its core, running on Android One, which requires minimal resources. The Nokia 1.3 feature a modest 5.71" IPS HD+ screen with a minimalist notch at the top. A Qualcomm 215 chipset with quad-core CPU paired with 1GB of RAM is powering it. You get 16GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards of up to 400GB capacity. On the back, the phone features just one 8MP camera with an emphasis on low-light and portrait performance thanks to the new Camera Go app from Google utilizing AI capabilities. The front-facing camera has a 5MP sensor. Its 3,000mAh battery should, according to HMD, deliver enough juice for 28 days of standby time.

Nokia 5310

The feature phone market is still large enough for HMD to continue Nokia’s tradition for these kinds of devices. The Nokia 5310 featured phone celebrates the iconic Nokia 5310 Xpress- music, and does so by a fresh design, while maintaining its music focus. Dual front-facing speakers make this the perfect MP3 player or FM radio on the go. There’s a 2.4-inch QVGA screen on the front, 8MB of memory and 16MB of storage. With a standby time of up to a month, thanks to its 1,200mAh battery, the Nokia 5310 will be available this month.
