Huawei has confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphones are Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. The both devices will have the first 7nm processor based HiSilicon chipset, The Kirin 980. This SoC has been launched on August 30, 2018 at IFA event in Berlin.
Launch Date and Price
Huawei has made official through its invitation card that the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro would make their debut on October 16, 2018.
The Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro were priced at $700 and $800. Being the successors, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will cost at least $100 more. So, it is expected that the Mate 20 and its Pro model will be available for $800 and $900 respectively.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: It is rumored to get a 6.9-inch notched display, 18:9 aspects ratio, QHD+ resolution, triple rear camera setup, a selfie locker, Kirin 980 chip, 6/8 GB RAM, 128/256 GB Storage, Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 OS, a 4200mAh battery, and Wireless Charging capability. The Mate 20 Pro is rumored to feature with Under-Screen Fingerprint Reader.
Huawei Mate 20 and the Pro model will have the similar designs to each other. These cell-phones are carrying a metal body (aluminum) with the IP6X rating and a bigger size screen more than 6 inches. There is a top-notch on the fronts of both.
An enthusiast, Steve H shared a post on Twitter which reveals that the Mate 20 has 6.8mm notch and 3.5mm chin. It means the upcoming Mate 20 series smartphones will not be completely bezel-free. It is also revealed that the Mate 20 owns a Dual Rear Camera setup, a Selfie Lens, and another optical sensor perhaps for 3D sensing Facial Recognition System. Also, there is a Fingerprint Sensor on the back.
On the other hand, a render of the Mate 20 Pro claims that it will have a larger screen, an In-display Fingerprint Scanner, a Selfie Camera, and surprisingly Triple Rear Camera sensors.
Coming to the next, the Mate 20 will sport 6.3in AMOLED display while the Pro model will boast 6.9in curved OLED display. However, the 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution is the same in both enchants. Corning Gorilla Glass 6 is expected for the better scratches protection levels.
According to the Huawei, the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be powered by the 7nm processor based HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset which is 20% faster and 60% efficient than previous Kirin 970. So where you can boost performance there also can save battery consumption.
The Global Mobiles leaked some screenshots which revealed that the Mate 20 and the Pro model are getting Kirin 980 coupled with eight-core processor ticks at the 2.8GHz clock rate. It is also said that the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be featured Mali-G72 MP24 GPU, better Neural Processing Unit (NPU), LPDDR4X RAM, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual-band Wifi, 3G and 4G LTE networks support.
Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are likely to debut in gorgeous Black and White body colors.
