With the co-operation of China Unicom, ZTE has successfully made a 5G call on a prototype and end-to-end kit. A WeChat group is used for this purpose.
After this success ZTE said “This achievement has made Shenzhen field of China Unicom become mode and it is in compliance with the 3GPP Rel-15,” “[The trial] showcases ZTE's strong competency in 5G R&D and the world's first commercial test field to make the first call in the NSA commercialization, demonstrating ZTE's role as a reliable partner to global 5G operators, and a key player in the 5G industry.”
ZTE has fulfilled its claim by readying 5G prototype and kit ahead to all around the globe. The Company will soon launch its 5G smartphone to become the world’s first telecom brands to introduce 5G mobile phones.
Currently, the Chinese ZTE and Huawei are facing a tough time to supply 5G equipment in superpower countries. Both companies are accused of being spies for the Chinese Government. The US and Canada have banned ZTE and Huawei, the legal battle between these telecom brands and the US is still continued.
