Vivo expands its portfolio with affordable smartphones and the latest entry is Vivo Y33s. The most prominent feature of Y33s is massive memory for base model. Just like other phones in the market, Vivo has to give some bait to get consumer attention. But the question is: Is Vivo Y33s a good deal or not? Should we take this bait? Let's assume by sorting out what it offers and what are benefits and drawbacks of Vivo Y33s.

Design

As the Chinese have been doing in the past, introduce a new design and later on continue to implement that design on various models. The square camera matrix and dewdrop notch display, which we saw on Vivo Y21, the same design is adapted by the Vivo Y33s.

It has a fingerprint sensor on the side and a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom. Fabricated with Plastic, the device weighs in at 182 grams. An unknown glass protects the front. Don't make it suffer water submersions, as Y33s is not water and dust resistant.

Display and OS

The handset features a 6.58 inches IPS LCD that is enough large for not to swipe too much while reading. It sets a standard of FHD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone obtains 81% screen-to-body ratio. Brightness and contrast are sufficient for indoors as well as outdoors.

The Vivo Y33S runs Funtouch 11.1, Vivo’s layer on the top of Android 11. The handset has ultra-game mode, and you can also release memory for the better gaming experience. Swiping down from the top, it has many different toggles – Wi-Fi, Cellular data, Silent mode, Bluetooth, Flashlight, Eye protection, ultra-game mode, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Volume controller, Brightness controller, and Do Not Disturb mode. The phone offers iManager for optimized the device and also has a cleanup option. Love to see Schedule Dark Mode. The Vivo Y33S has essential media apps like – Gallery, Music Player, File Manager, FM Radio, Compass, and Proximity. Aside from Play Store, it has also owned iApps (Vivo's apps store) to install different apps. There is a Low Battery Power Mode to save the battery life, and you can set different themes and wallpaper form the iTheme icon.

Camera

You are getting three cameras with Vivo Y33S. The primary is a 50MP wide-angle sensor of f/2.2 aperture. The secondary is a 2MP macro sensor. The last third is a 2MP depth lens. Taking images at daylight is okay in day as wall as low light. It is eligible of Full HD video recording. On the front, you would find a 16MP selfie camera of f/2.0 aperture. It captures splendid shots in daylight, but average at night.

Internals

Vivo Y33s obtained 280,000 scores in AnTuTu benchmark, thanks to Helio G80 chipset. Graphics are fine, thanks to Mali G57. Only one RAM option and that is 8GB, paired with 128GB Storage. Unfortunately, neither a microSD slot nor other memory variant is there.

Having a 5000 mAh battery, Vivo Y33s can last up to an entire day. Consumers can surf browsing, play games, watch movies, and enjoy talks for a long. Though it accepts 18W Fast Charge, the handset takes about 2 hours for a 100% top-up.

Verdict

If you are looking for a budget friendly gaming smartphone, or you may have multi-tasking purpose, for that kinds of reasons Vivo Y33s is a nice fit. But if camera is your key point, you may not get exceptional results or would like to switch to another alternative smartphone.
