Instagram announced a feature "Close Friends" to share your stories with select followers, in previous November. Now, the company launched another app known as "Threads" which is designed to use with Close Friends. By using Threads, we can easily share pictures and videos with followers in the Close friend list, and we can also set a profile picture at the bottom of the screen. This app has an inbox, but we only see messages of close friends in this box. However, for a chat with friends, we use the main Instagram app.
Threads also arrive with auto status feature (automatically shares little bits of context on where you are), i.e., when you are at a cafe, then the app automatically shares status "At a cafe," so this feature also helps us when we are too busy. Instagram says that we cannot save personal data in this app, because when we delete the app, all data will be removed along with the app. We can use the Threads app on both Android and iOS phones.
