Huawei Launches 6.6 inch Honor Note 8 and $90 Honor 5 Play

Huawei Honor has released Honor Note 8 with bigger display and significant specifications, the device features 6.6 inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 955 SoC processor, and Mali-T880 GPU. It has a 4GB of RAM and comes with 32,64 and 128GB storage options along with MicroSD and hybrid dual SIM slots.

The Honor Note 8 equips a 13MP rear camera with 8MP front facing sensor, both deliver quality pictures. A 4500 mAh battery is used to keep the bigger device up with a good battery life. The Honor Note 8 will be available for purchase on August 9 in China, the standard variant is priced at CNY 2299 ($345), the 64GB model costs CNY 2499 ($375) and the 128GB variant is available for CNY 2799 ($420). Worldwide availability and pricing details of the Honor Note 8 is not confirmed yet, however the smartphone will hit all those markets where Honor has segmented its devices.

The Honor Note 8 isn’t the only device that Huawei division Honor unveiled; the company also released Honor 5 Play. The low-range device is a descendant of the Honor 4 Play which was launched in 2014, as compare to Honor 4 Play the Honor 5 Play comes with noticeable upgrades. The Honor 5 Play packs a 5 inch display with 720p; it has an 8 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a 2 MP selfie camera. The Honor 5 Play is powered by the MediaTek MT6735 chipset, which owns 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU. The smartphone supports 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, with 2,200 mAh battery that keeps the lights on.

The dual SIM device supports 4G and VoLTE connectivity, and it will be available in black, white, and gold colors in China. The budget device carries CNY 599 (approximately $90) price tag; availability in other markets is vague yet.
