After the partnership with Intel, MediaTek has officially announced its new SoC lineup with 5G support. The company calls it Dimensity 1000 5G SoC, and the Chipset is built on a 7nm Octa-core processor. MediaTek promises its new 5G Chipset has the most power-efficient 5G of ant other mobile SoC, The MediaTek president, Joe Chen says, “Our Dimensity series is a culmination of MediaTek's investment in 5G and positions us as a leader driving 5G development and innovation. Our 5G technology goes head-to-head with anyone in the industry. We chose the name Dimensity to highlight how our 5G solutions are driving new waves of innovation and experiences, much like the fabled fifth dimension.”
The MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G Chipset offers dual 5G support, and it’s capable of up to 4.7 Gbps downloads and 2.5 Gbps uploads over 5G frequencies, and it also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The new Chipset can capture up to 80MP at 24 shots per second, and it also helps a 32MP and 16MP dual-camera. It also enables recording 4K video at 60fps and for the first time on a mobile Chipset. In terms of performance, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 gets 480,000 AnTuTu scores, and the high-performance cluster of this Chipset is capped at 2.6 GHz as well.
