Look wise it belongs to its precursors. There is a selfie camera sensor and a notification LED at some distant. Home button and other keys on the screen are exchanged with sensors. Dual SIM tray is placed on the left side of the device. The power button and sound volume keys are available on the right side. The bottom side is equipped with micro USB port and 3.5 mm jack but no speaker grille is there. Primary Camera and Fingerprint sensor are mounted on the back side of the smartphone.

Display

Sony Xperia L2 holds a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio 16:9 like other usual smartphones. It has 720 x 1280 pixels resolution which makes it easier to see brighter pictures and videos. You can play animated games on the eminent screen as well. The Xperia L2 gives 450 nits maximum brightness while its auto mode provides higher 530 nits maximum brightness which means you can enjoy perfect sharp scenes even in the presence of bright sunlight. Its black and white contrast is also superb. It supports more than 16 million colors to provide a richer color media experience.

Software

Sony Xperia L2 is running on Android OS v7.1.1 (Nougat) which is the enhanced version of Android 7.0 (Nougat). If we make a comparison of Xperia L1 and Xperia L2 then we have come to know that later one (L2) is better. But if we look at the latest trend then it seems that OS wise the Xperia L2 is behind because of the latest Android 8.0 (Oreo).

Android 7.1.1 OS enables More Ways to Communicate, Switch between Two Apps, Send GIFs Directly from Keyboard, Custom Quick Setting, Bundled notifications, and Data Saver. It allows you to launch actions by simply a long press on the app icon.

Chipset and CPU

Sony Xperia L2 is powered by MediaTek MT6737 which is a low-cost chipset and doesn’t support several latest applications. Moreover, it is running on a slow speed Quad-core Processor which has a 1.5GHz clock rate. It is boosted with 3GB RAM which makes the device enough capable to run apps smoothly. For the graphical calculation, the Mali-T720 GPU is available there. The graphics performance is better as compared to its chipset performance. Sony Xperia L2 has 32GB onboard storage which is sufficient to save your records but if you feel for further memory then you can make use of microSD slot to upgrade storage.

Camera

Sony Xperia L2 comes with the 13MP rear camera which is coupled with a LED flashlight to capture more light at the moment of shooting. It can record amazing full HD videos. Photography performance is also very well but panorama mode is absent in Camera features.

Sony Xperia L2 has an 8MP front camera which has an f/2.2 aperture. It is quite good for beautiful selfies and video calls. The Display brightness is enough to shoot splendid moments.

Connectivity

Sony Xperia L2 is supported with GSM/HSPA/LTE network technology. Lets you play streams, get fast downloads, and enjoy social media websites on 3G as well as faster 4G LTE internet. It provides 150Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speed. There are Dual SIM slots to give advantages of two different cellular networks at a time, therefore, you can connect with your family and friends, anywhere. Other connectivity options are NFC, USB Type C, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The fingerprint sensor is present on the rear for biometric security.

Battery

Sony Xperia L2 is powered by a 3300mAh non-removable battery which keeps the device up for a full working day. It provides up to 240 hours stand by time, up to 10 hours talk time, up to 22 hours music play time, up to 12 hours video playback time, and up to 8 hours web browsing time. The handset is not supported with fast charging so it will take a bit longer to recharge the battery.

Last Lines

Sony Xperia L2 is the latest smartphone and fair for common usage but you also have some better choices such as Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra but you must be paid some more money for that.
