Huawei Mate 40E unveiled with Kirin 990E and 4200mAh battery

Today (10-Mar-21), Huawei has officially unveiled its new smartphone, Huawei Mate 40E. It is the fifth device in the Mate 40 family. The Huawei Mate 40E comes with Huawei’s in-house Kirin 990E chipset, a 6.5-inch display, and will be available for pre-orders in China starting from today. The device will go on sale on March 18th in China.

The Huawei Mate 40E houses a 6.5-inch OLED display that offers 2376 × 1080 pixels resolution. The display also features a 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz sampling touch rate. Under the hood, it is powered by the Kirin 990E SoC. The Kirin 990E is a 7nm+ EUV processor that includes 14 core Mali-G76 GPU. The SoC is coupled with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. As for the software, the Mate 40E runs on Android 10 OS with EMUI 11 UI. There is also an under-display fingerprint scanner.

On the front panel, it has a 16MP camera sensor for selfie experience. Its round-shaped triple rear camera setup has a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, a 16MP ultrawide lens, an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and OIS support. Finally, Huawei Mate 40E packs a 4200mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging, 40W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging.
