Motorola Moto Z and Moto Z Force with Moto Mods Modular Backs Launched

On 9 June Lenovo held Tech World 2016 event in San Francisco, the company launched Moto Z, and Moto Z Force devices. Both smartphone are launched with Moto Mods magnetic snap-on back panels with different partners, including Incipio and JBL.

The Moto Z and Moto Z Force will be available for purchase from September worldwide alongside with Moto Mods which are likely to continue in future generations of Moto Z devices. This summer both devices will be available as the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid on Verizon Wireless.


The Moto Z smartphone could be called world’s slender device with 5.2mm and it is ultra light as well. The device packs 5.5 inch QHD AMOLED screen, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and clubbed with 4GB of RAM. The Moto Z comes in 32GB or 64GB storage which is expandable up to 200GB via MicroSD card. The flagship owns 13 megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, and optical image stabilization (OIS). There is a 5MP front facing camera as well with front flash and wide-angle lens.


A 2600 mAh battery keeps the mobile up and it delivers up to 30 hours of battery life, and with TurboPower charging to give 8 hours of battery life in 15 minutes. Both mobiles support fingerprint scanner, run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, sport USB Type-C and excluded 3.5mm headphone jack.


As for Motorola Moto Z Force specification concern is, it comes with ShatterShield technology for its screen, and the company claims that it will not shatter of crack. It has identical specifications except few differences, for instance, it has larger battery 3500 mAh battery which will offer 40 hours of battery life. It is said that with TurboPower charging, it will provide 15 hours of battery life in only 15 minutes charge. The mobile bears 21MP rear camera with OIS, autofocus, phase detection, and laser autofocus.  At the moment prices of both smartphones are not known but we expect the company will reveal price details soon.
