Today, Apple holds a virtual event. The company launched its next-generation Apple Watch Series 6. It comes in an array of new colors, and it also has some new features. Alongside the Series 6, Apple has also announced the affordable Apple Watch SE. The Apple Watch Series 6 will be available starting at $399 for a 40mm model.
Apple Watch Series 6
Apple Watch Series 6 can measure blood oxygen levels in about 15 seconds, using both red and infrared light. The Series 6 also arrives with the new S6 processor, which promises up to 20 percent faster performance. It’s based on Apple’s in-house A13 chip. You’ll be able to get the Watch Series 6 in gold, graphite, blue, or a new Product (RED) version that has a striking red finish on it. Apple says the aluminum models are made of 100 percent recycled aluminum, much like the newer MacBook Pro models. Additionally, Apple is unveiling a new strap called the “Solo Loop” that is made from one piece of silicone, without any buckles or adjustments. It is available in a range of styles and seven different colors. The Series 6 runs watchOS 7, which Apple revealed at WWDC earlier this year.

Apple Watch SE
The Apple Watch SE is a successor to the three-year-old Apple Watch Series 3. The device starts at $279. The Watch retains many of the Series 3’s signature features, including fall detection, compass and always-on altimeter, a swimproof chassis, Family Setup, face sharing, sleep tracking, and other signature features that are also packed into the new Apple Watch Series 6. There are Bluetooth-only and cellular options. The watch uses the S5 chip, which Apple says will allow for up to two times better performance than we saw from the Series 3. Apple Watch SE runs watchOS 7, which Apple unveiled at WWDC. The Watch also comes loaded with a new activity app (“Fitness Plus”), which includes workout tracking and virtual classes.
