Xiaomi is brining a new camera feature called Mimoji to upcoming CC series smartphones. This feature allows a user to create his/her animated emoji to show expressions amazingly. Mimoji customizes one’s skin, eyewear, facial hear, hair style and much more. It is something similar to iPhone’s Animoji, Samsung AR Emoji, Huawei Qmoji, and Oppo Omoji. In short, the same feature with different identities to represent the creative brand.

Xiaomi confirmed the Mimoji presence for Chic & Cool devices, and said Mimoji would recognize 165 different facial points, hair styles, accessories like hat and sun glasses etc.

There are three Xiaomi CC series handsets coming – CC9e, CC9 and CC9 Meitu Custom Edition. The official source revealed the CC9 Meitu Edition would have the ability to create Mimoji even during video calling. It will be really funny to make video calls to friends while becoming a cartoon. We don’t confirm either the CC9 or CC9e will feature this even with video calling or only for stationary pictures.

The affordable CC9e and CC9 are set to announce on July 2, tomorrow. However, the premium CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will get unveiled next Tuesday.

What is CC series?

CC is a newer product line by Xiaomi’s Chic and Cool team, which comes into existence after acquiring Meitu smartphone brand. Xiaomi has a global license to sell devices under Meitu branding. Thus, it is preparing to do so.

During the previous months, many rumors claimed the first CC smartphone would be CC9. Nine is the brand’s age here. It is said that there would be an economy version too of standard, allegedly called CC9e.

One of the most awaited features of Xiaomi CC9 is Flip-Up and Rotating Camera, which has been subject of many reports last month.

Unfortunately, we have no word on pricing. But for specs the CC9 speculated to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 chipset. It may further have an OLED Display, Triple Photography Snappers, and a nearby 4,000 mAh battery.
