Xiaomi Redmi 5A launched and the Redmi 5 leaked with MIUI 9

Xiaomi Redmi 5 has been titled of rumors for a couple of days. And now a new manual leak claims that the Redmi 5 will have latest MIUI 9 overlay. Before it, Xiaomi was posted a MIUI 9 teaser for Redmi 5 on weibo. The MIUI 9 interface will be based on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat). The manual leak also tells that the smartphone has dual hybrid SIM slots. It can run 4G only one SIM card. The Redmi 5 is rumored to have a price tag of CNY 1000 ($150). Some previous reports suggest that the Redmi 5 will have MediaTek Helio P20 chipset. On the other hand, another recently report say that the handset will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, the efficient SoC for mid-rangers.

As per the specs listing, Xiaomi Redmi 5 sports 18:9 ratio display, octa core CPU, 12MP rear camera and 5MP front selfie sensor. It will be available in three variants – the first one has 2GB + 16GB, the second one has 3GB + 32GB, and the third one has 4GB + 64GB. The microSD slot will be there as well. The Redmi 5 will be launched on December 7 therefore stay tuned to know more.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A has launched in India where it is available on sale as “Desh Ka Smartphone”. The 2GB + 16GB Redmi 5A price is INR 4999 ($78) and the 3GB + 32GB variant is offered for INR 6999 ($109).
