Huawei unveiled P40 Lite in February. The cheapest P40 smartphone came with Kirin 810 SoC, meaning the phone was not 5G supported. A few days earlier, a device called P40 Lite 5G was speculated to launch in Europe. And now, Huawei has silently added the device to the official website. Huawei P40 Lite 5G is a re-branded (for Europe) of Nova 7 SE, which is already available in China. The phone is available starting at €400. The variant comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Crush Green, Space Silver, and Midnight Black are the color options for the device. P40 Lite 5G is now available for pre-order in Europe while official sales will start from May 29.

The P40 lite 5G features a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS display with a punch-hole cutout for its 16MP selfie cam. The device features a 64-megapixel primary sensor paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter, 2-megapixel depth sensor. And, finally an additional 2-megapixel sensor for macro shots. Huawei P40 Lite 5G comes with a new Kirin 820 5G chipset, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Kirin 820 5G delivers a 27% CPU performance boost as well as a 40% GPU performance upgrade over the Kirin 810 used on the P40 Lite. The handset is backed up by a 4000 mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The device will be able to charge 70% in just 30-minutes as advertised by Huawei. P40 Lite 5G will come out of the box with Android 10, and unfortunately no GMS.
