Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus announced with Full Screen display

We have been getting leaks about Redmi 5 from a couple of weeks and now the time has come up and Xiaomi has launched its Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in an event in China. As we expected the Xiaomi Redmi 5 has a big bezel less display. It sports a 5.7 inches screen based on 18:9 aspect ratio. The IPS LCD panel is brightened with 720 x 1440 pixels resolution for crisp, sharp and colorful pictures. It has MIUI 9 overlay based on Android OS 7.1.2 (Nougat). It is powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset, Octa core processor, and Adreno 506 GPU.

A 3340mAh battery is supplied to wake up Redmi 5 for a lengthy period. Fast charging option is also there. Its rear camera has 12MP and front shooter gets 5MP to fill up your gallery with photos and selfies. Fingerprint scanner is mounted on back too. The (2GB RAM + 16GB ROM) Redmi 5 price is 799 Yuan ($120) while the 3GB + 32GB variant price is 899 Yuan ($135).

Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is the larger version of 5. It has 5.99 inches FullView display and 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. Software, Camera and CPU are same. There is 4000mAh battery. The Redmi 5 Plus comes in 32GB and 64GB storage options. The 32GB ROM packs with 3GB RAM, however, the 64GB ROM is coupled with 4GB RAM. Both variants of Redmi 5 Plus are available for 999 Yuan ($150) and 1299 Yuan ($200).
