Samsung Galaxy X or F (Foldable) Smartphone Rumors, Release Date and Features

Samsung Galaxy X or Galaxy F is said to be the first Samsung foldable smartphone. The brand had been working on it since 2013 when the company offered the first concept of a foldable smartphone. Later on, several renders and leaks had been suggesting the Samsung’s flexible device, but now the time of waiting has finish and Samsung has revealed its unnamed foldable smartphone in an official video at its developer conference in November 2018. Though the complete specs list and pricing details are not yet official, we have some pretty good glimpse of designs from official video to talk about and a list of leaked and rendered features from trusted sources.

This still-unnamed Samsung foldable device is speculated to be called Galaxy F where the F represents Foldable characteristic of device. On the other hand, some rumors claim that it will carry a moniker of Galaxy X to show the 10th anniversary of Samsung.

Release Date and Price

Samsung has confirmed at its developer conference that it will launch the Foldable Smartphone in early 2019 either in January or February at MWC 2019 alongside Galaxy S10. It means the the Samsung Flexible device will be available for sale in Q1 2019.

Talking about the price, Korea Times (from brand’s home country) reported that the Galaxy X would cost as much as 2 million won at release, reported by Kim Jang-Yeol, head of research at Golden Bridge Investment. It means the Galaxy X will be expensive and would get a price tag of around $1,800 (2 million won).

Specs and Features

The official video by Samsung shows the Samsung Galaxy F has a slightly similar design to the Royole FlexPai, the world’s first foldable smartphone. The Galaxy X or F has three small displays, dual on the front to form a tablet like big screen in unfolded mode and a single on the rear to show notifications in cell-phone like folded mode. The device is featuring black color and a hinge between dual screens.

Samsung Galaxy F is carrying two 4.5 inches display for folded mode and a big 7.3-inch display for the unfolded mode. Furthermore, it is said that the OLED display technology will be used to deliver a better watching experience. The resolution should be 4k (2160x3840 pixels).

This Samsung's Foldable Smartphone has received Bluetooth and Wifi certifications. It has also certified with SM-G888N0 model number in South Korea, the home country of the brand. The device is reported to have a battery between 3000mAh and 6000mAh.

Samsung Galaxy F is expected to have the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 chipset which is already working successfully in a Foldable Smartphone, The Royole FlexPai. You may find an Adreno 630 GPU for graphics and 8GB RAM for smooth multi-tasking.

Other specs include Octa-core processor, 256GB Storage, dual rear camera setup, a selfie camera, a fingerprint sensor, fast charging support, 4G and even maybe 5G network support, WiFi, USB Type C, NFC, GPS, and Nano-SIM connectivity.
